Bill Bryson does not play the naive tourist gushing about cute little old England, giggling at the 'quaint things Brits do'He has lived in Britain long enough to know what the British find annoying or endearing about their own culture and he examines this with affectionate from the standpoint of someone who is no longer and outsider but still not totally British.
A very enjoyable book.
