So disappointing. The writing is high school standard, the dialogue is appalling and the love scene.... I feel like I'm reading a ladies' magazine from the 50s! Where were the crashing waves and galloping horses!
The film is so poetic, with clipped tense dialog I thought this book was going to be an exquisite literary romance. How wrong can one person be?
I think this book bypassed the editor. Maybe some should lend Mr Sparks a book on the basics of writing - Show don't tell, believable dialogue etc.
To conclude I will quote from another review I read 'Gag me with a spoon'.
