Murder at Avedon Hill

Murder at Avedon Hill - P.G. Holyfield I loved this story.
It is fantasy but not in the 'sword-and-dragon-let's-go-on-a-quest' style.
This is more like 'Name of the Rose' set in a fantasy, rather than historical, time period.
I enjoyed the gentle measured place of the story-telling, the lively cast of characters and even the somewhat gruesome resolution.
I did think the telling of the resolution could have been a little tighter, with fewer flashes of magical light and less inner dialogue but the logic behind the resolution was solid and left me feeling satisfied.

I look forward to the return of Arames Kragen and his assistant Arrin Perti and will be interested to learn more about the Aarronic advisers.

I listened to the audio podcast but the print book is coming out May 2010 and it is well worth it.
